3) Somatic Writing: Mind/Body Exercise
In this video, we will ground into the present moment, and move through Three-Part Daoist Breath. By arriving in our body, we clear a path for finding release through the journaling prompts below.
Prompt 1: Stress/Overwhelm
Your mind is likely full of "have-tos." Let’s dump the clutter. Perform a "Brain Sweep": Write down every single task, worry, or thought looping in your head. Do not organize them. Just get them out of your body and onto the paper.
Prompt 2: Life’s Transitions
As you swept your arms, imagine you were clearing away old roles or expectations that no longer fit who you are becoming. Write about 3 things you are ready to "sweep away" to make room for your next chapter.
Prompt 3: Grief/Loss
Grief is the manifestation of ongoing love. It can make our inner weather feel like a heavy fog. The breath reminds us that everything can move, as a breeze shifts a fog, even if slowly. Identify where you hold your grief in your body. Write about moving the air around it.
